Audio file transcription

Turn audio and video files into editable text

Import a recording, meeting, interview or lecture. OraWrite transcribes it locally by default, with no per-minute billing, then exports TXT, DOCX or SRT.

From recording to document in three steps

1. Import

Select your file

Open MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4 and other common audio or video formats from your computer.

2. Transcribe

Let Whisper process it

OraWrite uses a speech recognition model suited to your hardware and keeps processing local by default.

3. Export

Use the result

Save plain text, a formatted Word document or SRT subtitles with timestamps.

Designed for real work

  • Meetings and interviews
  • Voice notes and podcasts
  • Courses and lectures
  • Video subtitles
  • Legal or medical notes that require local processing

No volume meter

Transcription is included in every OraWrite plan. Local processing does not charge by the minute, so long files do not create an unexpected invoice.

Speed depends on the computer and selected model. Optional cloud processing is available if you choose it.

Why local transcription matters

Online transcription platforms usually require an upload. Local mode processes the file on your own computer, which reduces data exposure and is useful for confidential recordings. You remain responsible for obtaining any consent required to record and transcribe other people.

Windows and macOS support

The same feature is available on Windows and Mac. Mac users can choose an Apple Silicon or Intel installer, while Windows users benefit from NVIDIA GPU acceleration when compatible hardware is available.
